Calian Introduces the HC3990XF eXtended-Filter Housed Full-Band GNSS Helical Antenna

Calian is excited to announce the addition of the HC3990XF housed full-band helical GNSS antenna to its industry-leading line of antennas. Now available through Blue Planet Geomatics, the HC3990XF offers a unique design that does not require a ground plane, making it an ideal solution for size-constrained applications.

Calian’s HC3990XF antenna uses a standard through-hole design that supports TNC, type N, and cabled connectors. The HC3990XF base diameter is 66.5 mm and is 34 mm tall and weighs only 105 grams.
Engineered for precise positioning, the full-band HC3990XF GNSS helical antenna supports a comprehensive range of GNSS signals, including GPS/QZSS-L1/L2/L5, QZSS-L6, GLONASS-G1/G2/G3, Galileo-E1/E5a/E5b/E6, BeiDou-B1/B2a/B2b/B3, and NavIC-L5 frequency bands. It also supports satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS) such as WAAS (North America), EGNOS (Europe), MSAS (Japan), and GAGAN (India), as well as L-band correction services.

A standout feature of the HC3990XF antenna is Calian’s eXtended Filtering (XF) technology. As the global radio frequency spectrum becomes increasingly crowded with new LTE bands, interference with GNSS antennas and receivers becomes more common. In North America, the planned Ligado service (1526 to 1536 MHz) poses a challenge for GNSS signals, while new LTE signals in Europe [Band 32 (1452 – 1496 MHz)] and Japan [Bands 11 and 21 (1476 – 1511 MHz)] also impact GNSS reception. Calian’s XF technology effectively mitigates these disruptive signals, ensuring reliable performance.
